It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was underway.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we are confident we can succeed."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
